Who are you?

Who are you? Tell me about yourself? This are questions we think we should be able to answer, until we try to answer this questions. First of all when we were born, we were given a name, told we belonged to a particular ethnic group, told to practice a particular kind of religion, told and taught how to live, to follow the pattern and way of life of people that came to the world before us. Told to practice a kind of culture, we hate what we were told to hate, we love what we were told to love, we follow who we were told  to follow, they keep saying this adage "what an elder sees sitting down, you can't see if you climb a palm tree". We never took time to question anything, we never dared to question what they told us to believe in, we grew up with the idea of the society not the idea of ourselves. some group of people,  a religious group and some dead ancestor that dont know what is like to live in this jet age, and our surroundings form who we are.  we fight and make enemies to defend ideas that we dont know how it came about or what it represents, we let this ideas and myth decided the way we treat people. We all walk around with heads held high and talk confidently like we have a good sense of self but in reality we are all just puppets of a belief created by some dead guy who was just trying to make sense of his environment. So if we are to remove your race, your religion, your ethnic group, who are you? What do you have to tell the world about yourself not what the world tells you about yourself. If you can find your true self, out of all the imposing suggestions of the society, that is when you really become a person and not a puppet placed to play a role in the society, that is when you are a  different being from the next person beside you, thats when you are alive and you can appreciate life, that's when you can make a difference . If you follow the patterns already set before you by someone you dont even know or know how the pattern came into being instead of finding your  own way and discovering yourself. You will just be miserable, you  will  spend your time chasing things you were told are fulfilling, and when you get them  you will discover that they are  not enough.
