Doyin’s perspective (chapter 3)
Someone once told me that
if you fly too close to the sun, you are bound to get burnt. But what if you
bound to die anyway and the only place for you is hell? Wont you risk being
burnt just to be on top of the world?
This is what my
relationship with Jade felt and to think that I had Kofo to worry about made me
realise I was about to get myself into some hot water.
Kofo was the girl I was
wasting time with, she was the one responsible for getting me on my feet. She
had a huge crush on me and I was taking advantage of it, I didn’t feel the same
way but I kept her around because of the attention I was getting. Also the
sexual tension between us was at its optimum level. I was developing feelings
for Jade, she was all I could think about and Kofo was the one that was in
front of me.
She had called me to hang
out, we haven’t seen for a while. I knew she always liked me, even when I was
with the one that shattered my heart. Now that I was single she has been
waiting for me to make a move which I was thinking about doing till Jade came
into the picture and was beginning to forget about her until she gave me a call
today.
“hey so you cannot call
abi” Kofo said with a huge grin on her face
“big yansh” I said as I examined
her figure. she was chubby and quite curvatious, all the fat where in the right
places. She wasn’t figure eight sexy but she was okay.
“mtchew” she hissed with
as she pulled away from me
“you know I have missed
you”
“you have missed me,
that’s why you dinnur call abi”
“I am always checking up
on you, I don’t need to call to know you’re fine”
“ehn ehn”
“yes I have my ways, I
feel you in my spirit”
“naso, be whining me
there” she said as she followed my hands as I pulled her close
“so where are we going?”
I asked
“I want to eat”
“shey you will buy
spaghetti for me?”
“shey I look like your
mother ni?”
“please na, I am broke”
“whatever, sha follow me”
“yes ma” I said as we
made our way to the spaghetti place, laughing and enjoying each other’s
company. She later caved and bought me a plate of spaghetti. Every time with
her was fun but the situation between Kofo and I was “out of sight, out of mind”
I enjoy my time with her but when she is not around I totally forget about her.
We made our way from the
spaghetti place towards the school gate because Kofo had to be on her way home.
Her mother had refused her from staying in the school hostel for some reason
best known to her.
We got to car park, and
she was about to board the bus which was going to take her home then I said
“shey you will be my
girlfriend?”
“is that how you will
ask?”
“err how am I supposed to
ask?”
“aunty enter we dey go”
the conductor said interrupting our conversation
“we will talk later” she
said with a smile as she entered the bus
“okay” I said as I began
to walk towards the opposite direction
What the hell was I
doing? Why did I ask her out? Jade was
there, although our relationship wasn’t defined, and if Kofo accepted to be my
girlfriend, we might have ended up being friends. But there was something about
being Kofo’s boyfriend that wasn’t enticing. I was just tired of being lonely,
I wanted someone to belong to me and someone that I belonged too, I might have
been doing it the wrong way but I didn’t care.
This next day I got a
message from jade saying she won’t be online for a while because she was
preparing to come to Lagos and you can’t imagine how excited I was. We had
already agreed to meet when she landed, I just did not have an idea when, it
all depended on her aunt who she was going to be staying with.
So I took out my phone to
gave kofo a call
“heyy what are you doing
now?” I said
“I just got to my friend’s
hostel I am tired”
“so I cannur see you?”
“im tired”
“I want to take you to
the cinema ni”
“now?”
“yes”
“can’t we go later?”
“nope, now”
“please na lets go later”
“nope I will be busy
later”
“okay I am coming”
“okay meet me at the
school gate now”
“okay”
As I hung up the phone I
couldn’t help but smile, she that didn’t want to come to see me because of her
hypothetical tiredness.
We met at the school gate
and on our way we went to the cinema. The journey to the cinema was filled with
a lot of body rubbing against each other, and passive smiles being exchanged
between each other.
We got to the cinema
elevator then to the movie room it was
only us in the elevator which gave me an opportunity to grab her ass, she
didn’t say anything but just giggled.
During the movie she was
all over my wrapping herself around my body and brushing against my dick from
time to time. This was a clear sign she was into me not that I did not already
know that.
After the movie and as we
were about to part ways I drew her close to me
“so you are my girlfriend
abi?”
“that’s not how it’s
supposed to work”
“you have to seriously
ask me out instead of joking around”
I smiled as I was
immediately discouraged, not like I couldn’t ask her out but I did not want
anything romantic and the kind of seriousness she was looking for. All I wanted
was someone I could constantly be physical with all in the name of relationship.
Also I thought of Jade, someone I might be serious with and this Kofo’s
response made me feel like I just dodge a bullet, thank you god.
